Personal and professional Development

Introduction:

Personal development is the process of acquire own development, personal skills, motivation from the mentor and the development of own skills. Personal development helps to the individuals for getting extra advantage to their life leading. Professional development is the process of entre life of human development. This is the procedure of continuous learning and supporting activities for individual working. Professional development includes with the individuals academic degree, educational qualification and the working experience certificate. In this assignment, I will describe the self-managed learning that can enhance lifelong development at the first task. At the middle of this assignment I will make an assessment of my current levels of management skills and identify on which to work during the period of this assignment and review my own personal and professional development plan. At the last stages of this assignment, choose two problems that have encountered at work and identify the proper solutions using formal problem solving methods. Here are the selected company name is Tesco Plc Limited (Tesco, 2017).

Task 1

a)      Carried out research into approaches to self-managed learning and then make an assessment of those most likely to be of help to my personal and professional career development:  

Here are various types of self-managed learning and assessment of these approaches that help to my personal and professional career development in this below:
Participating different Seminars and Conferences: Seminars and Conference is the best way of making self-managed learning for the individual person. This is the effective method that helps to the people for gaining different types of skills. Participating in different seminars and conferences makes a man to be confident and share their ideas with other people. On the other hand, conference and seminar helps to improve the personal leadership and makes the confident in public speaking skills (Anderson, 2013).
Using Social Network: In the present world, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedln, Google+, Youtube, Instagram, Snapchat, Whatsapp, Viber are the most effective social network that the people used for their communication. These social networks are very helpful for the communication and acquire knowledge. We make chat with other in different issues that increase our knowledge and know about any news all over the world by Facebook. Twitter is very effective for sharing experience and personal skills that helps for the individual to get information. Linkedln is great for people looking to connect with people in same industries, networking and business related information. Whatsup and viber are two similar social networks that connect to the people with massage, audio and video call. These helps to share data and information people to people and get different skills form others. Thousands of tutorials uploaded in Youtube about self-managed learning that can watch for personal and professional development (Dalton, 2010).
Using Internet: Using internet has also important for the self-managed learning for personal and professional career development. There different types of websites that provides personal and professional based learning in their websites. For example, Google Scholars is the source of different types of books that people read it and get the knowledge about self-managed learning in personal and professional career development (Dalton, 2010).

b) Evaluate the benefits of self-managed learning of myself and for any organization might work for in the future and then suggest how might link self-managed learning to my own personal development plan in a practical fashion:

According to Carmichael (2011) Self-managed learning is the best way of personal and professional development. This helps to the working area of the individuals. I manage my work with self-managed learning process. This helps me to know the proper decision what do I want. I am benefited from different thinks in self-managed learning for my personal and my organization. Here are the benefits of self-managed learning for my personal and for any organization might work in the future in this below:
o   Self-managed learning helps to me to manage the team and inspired the team member to work dedicatedly in their workplace.
o   It helps to communicate in different places by their religion and their culture.
o   I make a good presentation about my work by this self-managed learning.
o   It helps me to getting different types of data and powerful information that make me easy to work.
o   It’s inspired to make the ability in different circumstances with my colleagues.
o    It is an opportunity to learn by the lens of my choice, culture and perspective (Carmichael, 2011).
Benefits of self-managed learning to the organization:
o   It makes to the positive environment in the organization for the employees.
o   It developed the employees to their perspective goals.
o   It increased the positive thinking and idea sharing from the organizations.
o   This learning results in developed profitability and growth in the organization.  
o   Improve the duties and job increment by this self-managed learning in the organization (Carmichael, 2011).

c) An appreciation of the benefits of self-managed and the lifelong learning. Make suggestions for how these activities might be encouraged for the long term benefits of both individual and organizations:

Lifelong learning is the process of life where the people obverse the approaches, knowing knowledge, gather information by learning. The individual people can measure the lifelong learning by SWOT analysis such as strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. My strengths are good presentation, my ambition, good preparation of work, good working skills. I am very strikes about by duties and I regularly take my bath and exercise that make me healthy. I try to sleep in just time and these make me strengths in working place (Dalton, 2010). I have some weaknesses that such as several illness, mental distinction, physical problems that a great impact of my personal activities. I faces different places that not suitable for me and it also make the weaknesses for me. I have different types of opportunity that helps me to take advantage from my working place. I have developed my graduate and undergraduate degree from the prominent colleges. There are some threats for me in my working place. I faced several unworthy situation that is big challenges for me.     
Learning style:

Honey & Mumford, (2017).
This style is duscussed by Peter Honey and Alan Mumford. This styles are described in this below that helps to encoureased the long term benefites fo both individula and organization:
Reftect:It prefers to learn from activites that show them to see, think and review what has happened. In this way, lectures is very effective when they expart about explanisions and analysis (le, 2017).
Theorist: It prefers to think problems by the step-by-step such as lectures, systems, case studies, analogies, models, reading etc.
Pragmatist: Idt prefers to apply new learning to proper prtactice to see if they work such as filed work, laboratories, observations etc (Carmichael, 2011).
Activist:It prefers the new experiences, involvement with others and role playing such as anything new problem solving and small group discussion (le, 2017).

a) Identify a list of important management skills then review and evaluate my own current level of performance in relation to each of them:

Objective Setting
The setting of objective is very important for management skills. This is the primary steps for the individual skills in personal development. I am well aware of the objective setting of Tesco to improve my management skills (Oakley and Krug, 2007).
Communication
Communication is very effective for management skills. It helps to make communication with the employees in different places. I use to communicate with my senior to solve any problem that happened in working places.
People Development
The people development is another important management skill for the employees. When the people are developed about their skills they will be good their performance. I try to make the motivation in people development (Oakley and Krug, 2007).  
Decision Making
In every business, decision making is the vital role and makes the overall perception in the business. This is very important management skills for the current level of performance of the business company. I take any decision with my senior and my colleagues that make me clear and effective for the organization. 
Motivation
Motivation is very effective in team based working environment. This is also important management skills for the individuals. I use the motivation to the team member that makes more improved the business (Oakley and Krug, 2007).

I try to overcome my several weaknesses such as physical problem, illness, mental problem etc. I go to a hospital and take proper treatment for removing this problem. Then I gain the ability of living in different unsuitable weather and make sure the proper satisfaction for me. I can minimize different threats that make the harm and challenges for me. I remove this problem in my own development way of learning (Mabey and Finch-Lees, 2008).

c) List my future development needs and identify specific ways of meeting them with my long term career development in mind:

Here are my future development plan needs and identify specific ways of meeting them with my long term career development in mind:
Summarize my self-assessment and information: To perform my future development plan I summarize my self-assessment and information. It helps to my long term career development in mind (Hawamdeh, 2005). By this process, I assess the cause and consequence for long term future planning in Tesco. I give the effective information that helps to get the proper strategy in Tesco. Then all summarize my self-assessment and information is finished and the beginning in my development plan.
 Talk with my supervisor: The supervisor is very experienced person in Tesco. He or she knows the views of the development of Tesco. So I need to talk with my supervisor before taking the future development plan (Hawamdeh, 2005). 
Set career goals: Before taking the future development of my company, I will try to set my career goals at first. Set career goals help me to take the motivation in taking long term future development goals of Tesco (Tesco, 2017).
Make the development activates: I make the development activities before taking the development plan in Tesco. This is very effective in long term career development in mind.
Succeed Process: When all the activities will be finished the development plan will be set in Tesco. And the succeed process will be development in long tern future development plan (Hawamdeh, 2005).

Task 3:

A) Consider and then attach to my development plan an outline of the way that intends to go about implementing it. This will involve reflecting on my own learning style as identified through the Honey & Mumford activity and developing strategies to fit in with it:

Here are several general for the implementation of development plans and it effecting in the procedures. The future development plan is very important in this task. This plan can help to make employment opportunities and benefits for me. The implementing plan can influence to my development plan. I will be capable of the new challenges that happens the long term future plan. I would like to join a strategic manger in Tesco (Tesco, 2017).
The general activities that are focused my own development plan will be implemented here. I have involved the initiation strategic objectives in this stage. There is different skills work in this development plan such as communication skills, research skills, motivational skills, time management skills etc. I need to develop my communication skills to determine and strong the team based work in Tesco. I also develop my motivational skills for inspiring the employees in working place. Now, I need to improve my current position for the effective result. The learning style of Honey & Mumford activity is very important to making development plan. This helps to make the proper development plan assets in long time development (Anderson, 2013).

c) Assess the learning that I have achieved since starting this unit against the targets set out in my original development plan:

I have achieved and the set the development plan for personal and professional development process. Here I faced some important feedback that will base on the assessment in this task. For this reason, I need to re-develop my future developing plan and take the necessary steps for development of long time development plan (Barker and Kellen, 1998).
Learning is very effective for this purpose. So it can be noted firstly in this stage. On the other hand, the effort   that is required to determine the development plan by learning assessment. I have specified the process of my original development plan. And take the targets set out in my original development plan. So, assess the leaning that I have achieved since starting this unit against the targets set out in my original development plan (Barker and Kellen, 1998).

d) Reset my objectives in the light of my own evaluation plus any feedback that have received from family or friends or my college tutors:

Here are a number of areas of feedback that cover within the evaluate explanations. I would qualify as my personal and professional development. Future development plan is the process that individuals like as draw up a plan that will help in future prospective personality. I will try to review my record for personal and professional development in the organization that more prefers in future development plan (Allan, 2009).
Through the developing of my curriculum vitae, I will be able to reset my objectives in the light of my own evaluation. I would like to set my working plan with the current dates and time that memorizing the proper actions in the future (Allan, 2009).   

Task 4

a) Two problems I have encountered at work and appropriate solutions for the problems

The two problems I have encountered in Tesco are personality clashes and lack enthusiasm in team work. European job market consists of people from different nationality and background. So Tesco offers these people job by evaluating their skills and quality. But many local people, who believe in nationalism, socialism and other racial theory, bring conflict in the workplace (Williams, 2010). It creates heterogeneity there. I have worked with session and seminar where I tried to make them understand the importance of humanity in the world and psychologically make them feel responsible to each other. My idea was to build up a team where people will respect each other because of humanity. Obviously some people have some orthodox characters that are not good in team work (Williams, 2010). I worked to make them be friendly to each other, retain the good human trait and cut the bad. This eventually motivated them to be kind and good to each other by reforming their personality issues. I have also worked to develop good communication system among them so that they can share their opinions (Williams, 2010). It increased co-operation among them that eventually increased team effort in Tesco.

b) Developing verbal communication skills by 10 minutes presentation

c) Identify a range of effective time management strategies and usages of these to create a time plan.

Time management plan should be developed by three crucial yardsticks and they are productivity, performance and perception (Saloner, Shepard and Podolny, 2012). The plan should be able to help the employees increase overall productivity, quality performance and understand their job. The organization should consider their goal at first and then distribute roles accordingly to the people. Then a work schedule should be developed that will describe the time when respected employees are to be present in the workplace and carry out their goal. Tesco can develop sub goals for the final goal achievement. So, Tesco will set time for their teams to achieve the sub goals in specific period of time. To have a backup system, Tesco should keep some bonus time so that if employees fail to execute their duties in time, the bonus time will give them relief for that situation. There is a project management theory that statisticians use mostly. Using the system, Tesco can define their individual tasks and develop a critical path. Using the critical path, Tesco will be able to complete the whole project in time undoubtedly. All these strategies are effective for them (Saloner, Shepard and Podolny, 2012).
Conclusion
Like the business world, the workplace environments are also very much competitive. An organization can present them differently to the business world when they will a skilled and confident group of people. Personal and professional development helps individuals successfully to bring newer skills and strategies among them. Unless individuals cannot adjust them with the changing workplace environment and meet its demand, they will surely lose their jobs. That is why; personal and professional development is so necessary in the workplace. This paper has comprehensively described many issues over personal and professional development that has helped me so much personally.
